Keyhole Rock at La Veta

La Veta Colorado has some incredible rock formations that I can look at all day. During a cycling weekend with friends to ride the Stonewall Century, I took the opportunity on a Sunday morning to go out with my easel and paint the view from a friend’s road. I was granted  an additional stay at this friend’s home to come back and paint. This painting, Keyhole Rock at La Veta happened on my way back from Taos during an October trip. The day I painted this was the perfect autumn day with golden sunlight. The next morning, I was snowed in. It was a nice problem to be stuck there! Original oil painting on canvas. Framed in at 3″ plein air frame. Comes wired and ready to hang. ©Leslie Jorgensen
